Located on one of the busiest intersections in the CBD of Port Macquarie once housing a petrol station,
this modern two storey office building brings together clean architectural lines with modern
construction techniques.
Joyce Constructions were bought in to co-ordinate the full construction of the
building which started by overseeing the multi-disciplinary design aspects along with satisfying difficult
subterranean features and construction on a busy road.
High standards of safety where required including ensuring the safety of pedestrians and motorists
during works and after hours. Working closely with Port Macquarie Hastings Council to ensure minimal
disruption to city life. Accurate programming and co-ordination of deliveries along with trades and
services was required to make sure construction and the public were not held up.
Along with office space and facilities, the building provides a large awning over the public walkway
found on both frontages of the building. This awning was replicated on the first floor of the building and
along with large aluminium sunscreens provide a striking street appeal.
A big concern was the safety of our employees and sub-contractors on such a difficult site. A regular
procedure for our company is to invite SafeWork NSW to visit some of our difficult or larger projects to
make sure that they are happy with our procedures and or offer us any suggestions to make the site
safer for our workers. We have found this a great way to keep Joyce Constructions a leading
construction company in our area.
